Cape Spear

Finally a few pictures of Cape Spear, with its two lighthouses on the "Easternmost point of the North American continent".

The "old" lighthouse of 1836.
And the "new" lighthouse of 1955.
A view up the bluffs towards the lighthouses.
The Cape Spear sign.
Boys playing where they shouldn't, as usual. (Another sign indicated that quite a few lives have been lost off these rocks.)
Wildflowers by the walkway.
All the lighthouse buildings.
A distant view of the harbor entrance to St. John's, with Signal Hill and the Cabot tower to the right.

These pictures were taken with a Canon EOS 10D digital camera. Images were cropped, balanced, etc. with Adobe Photoshop Elements.
