The Hotel Del Coronado, known familiarly as the "Hotel Del":
Out in the Anza-Borrego desert, with some fun cactus. (Cholla, perhaps.)
Palm Canyon, an amazing oasis in the desert. These are California Fan Palms, the only palm native to California, and only occurring naturally in such oases.
Mission San Luis Rey, founded in 1798. Mission San Juan Capistrano, founded in 1776, and famous for its gardens, and for the annual return of the swallows.
Magnificently-decorated commercial buildings in San Diego's Gaslight District.
